STAINED GLASS CLASSES FOR BEGINNERS
Classes are held in a number of ways. The total number of
hours in a class depends on the size of the project. We allow up
to 40 hours for a large project. If your project goes beyond 40
hours, a charge of $3.00 per hour will be billed. It would be
unusual for a project to take more than 40 hours, unless it is
quite large or very intricate.
Classes are held at the convenience of the student. Days,
evenings, and weekends are available. You can come in for up to
8 hours per session. classes are not set for a certain day of
the week or for a certain time. This makes it much more
convenient for those who work or for those who live a distance
away. You make your own schedule, and we will do our best to
accommodate you. We do request that you make every effort to
complete your 40 hours within a 3-month period. This is due to
the large number of students taking classes.
There are no more than 3 students in a class at any one
time, which gives you the most attention from the instructor.
The cost of the class is $75.00 per student and does not include
glass, solder, or foil. These must be purchased by the student.
An average size project (2' x 3') will run approximately $50.00
for glass, solder, foil, etc., depending on color selection and
number of pieces.
We must limit the size of your first project to no larger
than 18" x 32" due to work space size.
This art form does require a certain amount of hand
strength while cutting and grinding the glass. If you have
problems with arthritis, carpal tunnel or other problems of this
nature, you may not want to pursue this class.
Anyone taking our class who decides that this is the hobby
they want to pursue can save a little money at the same time..
If you purchase the complete Beginners Tool Kit, or the Advanced
Tool Kit, we will take 10% off of either kit. We do have to set
some sort of time limit on this offer. Either kit must be
purchased within one week after you last class session.
Our goal is to give you a total working knowledge of
making any stained glass project form picking a pattern,
enlarging or reducing the pattern, cutting the glass, preparing
it for soldering, and finishing the project.
Our main concern is that working with stained glass is
fun. We hope that you will find this hobby relaxing, easy to do
and rewarding. We will remain always ready to answer your
questions or to help you in any way we can after your classes
are completed. We welcome everyone involved to bring in their
future project or to come to us for assistance, should you have
any difficulty in completing a project.
